The homecoming ceremonies had been arranged and financed by Ohio's own Rocky Boots. They did a fantastic job. It had been their boots I had worn all the way around the world. What I think impressed them even more, though, was that I had not sought their sponsorship. As it was, I paid for the whole journey from my own pockets.

Of course the welcoming ceremonies lasted well into the chilly day. And on that day I would give the first of what would eventually be thousands of speeches in the decades to come. But I'm not complaining, for the worldwalk blessed me with a lot of adventures to share.
